The Upper Pool - The Divine Rebirth
under construction...
The Upper pool is dedicated during the day to Water classes, taking participants into deep levels of relaxation and intimacy.
Saturday June 17th
8:00am Presence of Being: (Class with Shantam)
This class is designed to help participants explore and embrace the grace of presence: the continuous unfolding of the “mysterious moment” when practitioners are fully present with their mind, body, emotions and breath. From here, practitioners can experience the deepest connection on all levels to whomever they are with. Through this connection, the practitioners work (on land and in the water) will become a practice of being rather than doing. For participants that have not worked extensively in the water before, this class gives them the opportunity to become comfortable in the water before they take a more technical class. If they are already experienced with Watsu®, WaterDance or Jahara Technique, this class significantly enhances the ability to connect with the client - thereby deepening both the practitioners satisfaction in the work and the client’s experience.
10:00am Aquatic Contact Dance: (Class with Inika Spence)
Aquatic Contact Dance was birthed from Inika's joy of connecting with others in the water through 10 years of working as an aquatic bodyworker at Harbin. Her sessions often become interactive where the "client" becomes the dancer and Inika just follows. When this happens a deep healing emerges from the place of listening presence. The body feels heard and is allowed to unwind as a whole being: body, mind and spirit. Aquatic Contact Dance becomes a listening: to ourselves, to the other. We will play, dance and delight each other with movement and stillness in the water. Dance in the water becomes dreamtime, altered states and a new depth of connection to ourselves, to the water and to the other, and possibly come to that place where there is no separation.
2:00pm Watsu® Basics (Class with Davida Taurek)
Immerse yourself into the healing world of Watsu. In this 2 hour Basic Watsu class we will dive into the joy of meeting and holding someone in the water. We will gently learn how to move from our center so that the body in our arms experiences the freedom of movement that water has to offer. Come and experience the magic of Watsu.
4:00pm Aquatic Energywork (Class with Diane Tegtmeier)
This class brings the principles of energy healing into the flow of aquatic bodywork. Both practitioners and participants of aquatic bodywork will be taught the basics of the subtle energy system which surrounds and permeates the physical body. On land and in water, participants will learn how to locate the energy-active positions on the body, how to be responsibly present with what they sense, and to facilitate the movement or release of energetic constrictions that are ready for change. Through personal self-healing exercises and structured treatment forms with others, the potential for healing that awakens when these two powerful ways of working are integrated in flow will be explored. Diane brings her experience as an energy healing practitioner to her study of Watsu®. She has developed a style of aquatic bodywork that can expand the ways you work with another in water.

8:00am Water Dance (Class with Shantam)
Waterdance is a form of aquatic bodywork developed by Arjana Brunschwiler and Aman Schroter in 1987. Like Watsu®, it begins with the client being cradled, stretched, and relaxed above the water surface. In Waterdance, the client is then given nose clips and gradually and gently taken entirely under the water. Once freed from the bounds of head support and gravity, the client’s body can be moved, stretched, and worked in literally unlimited ways. Waterdance incorporates elements of massage, Aikido, dolphin and snake movements, rolls, somersaults, inversions, dance, and much more. The effects of this work include physical release and can induce deep states of relaxation, meditation, bliss, and even visions. In this class, participants will explore the art of breath connection that enables to establish a deep rapport with their floating partner, inspire their trust and offer the attentiveness that is necessary when bringing someone below the water’s surface.
10:00am Healing Dance (Class with Inika Spence)
Healing Dance evokes the essence of water: fluidity and movement. It is a complementary technique to Watsu® and Waterdance: powerful in its own right, combining the freedom, scope and three-dimensionality of Waterdance with the closeness and nurturing of Watsu®. Although the entire session takes place above the surface of the water, Healing Dance elicits many of the same responses experienced in a Waterdance session. The giver enjoys the pleasure of her or his own dance, bringing the grace of movement to the receiver. The form follows the natural tendencies of the body moving in water through waves and spirals, with the legs free to experience the sensation of the water flowing past. Some moves combine the contrast of closeness and release while others offer creative stretches. Participants learn to move in partnership with the receiver as if they were water itself. Healing Dance was developed by Alexander Georgeakopoulous, a former ballet dancer and teacher who began studying and teaching Watsu® in 1990. Since then he has created, expanded and refined the Healing Dance, which continues to grow and evolve.
